The Microsoft Surface Laptop 7, starting at $999, is the first of its kind to ship with a Qualcomm CPU, and Microsoft is really highlighting this upgrade.
The Surface Laptop 7—or as Microsoft calls it, the Surface Laptop 7th Generation—comes equipped with either a Snapdragon X Plus or Snapdragon X Elite chip. These new Qualcomm processors feature NPUs (Neural Processing Units), making them the first of Microsoft’s new Copilot+ PCs. These Windows 11 machines boast NPUs capable of supporting advanced AI features in the operating system.
These new chips are touted for their long-lasting performance and support for on-device AI. While we haven’t had the opportunity to conduct a full review yet, I’ve had some hands-on time with the Microsoft Surface Laptop 7. In this article, I’ll explain why, despite not bringing much new to the Surface Laptop lineup, its AI features are certainly intriguing.
